South Carolina Nature Artist and Inspirational Artist Gets Published
From the moment Dionne tried painting with watercolors and wax, she was hooked and fell in love with mixed media encaustic art! She loves experimenting with different mediums and is always trying new materials and techniques. In 2016 she became a published artist in a North Light Book Publication, Incite 4 "Relax, Restore, Renew-The Best of Mixed Media" and was recognized for her encaustic art watercolor collection.
"Pawleys Island".
How fitting it was for her to be chosen for a publication focusing on art that portrayed relaxation, restoration, and renewing oneself. She herself was walking through that very thing in her life beginning in 2014 and was using nature, Christian meditation and art as therapy, coming full circle to experience new wellbeing and wholeness through painting. She is pleased to share her accomplishment but it didn't come without a fight or challenges in life. Pawleys Island, SC holds a special place in her heart. It is her "green pasture" she says, "it's just sandy and watery instead of grassy and green". Dionne recharges by the ocean, reflecting on life and tries to capture and preserve the beautiful seascapes, sunrises, sunsets, and moments she experiences.
Incite 4, The Best of Mixed Media was a benchmark moment for Dionne, especially since she was published in the same book as a fellow artist she admired, Tonja Sell portrait artist.
